Chiwa Bistro: An Asian Fusion Haven for Ramen and Sushi Lovers in Newark

Fantastic Asian food with both quality and taste hitting the mark. I ordered the katsu curry, mini sushi boat, pork dumplings, and shrimp dumplings, and Chiwa Bistro didn’t disappoint. Every single dish was satisfying. While it may not be the absolute best Asian food you’ll ever have, it’s definitely one of the top options in Newark and worth trying.

Excellent food, the ramen came out lightning fast (<5min). Decor and service were both excellent and everyone had a great time. I scanned the approx 30 page menu with my phone and used ChatGPT to decide on some combos of sushi and noodles and ultimately settled on spicy Salmon roll and spicy Tonyu Ramen for around 23$ together. Highly recommend for a date or spending a dinner with family, but if you come very hungry, I imagine it could get pretty pricey.

Stopped in after a movie. Food was really good! Usually is! Bowie was our server. Very attentive! I had a California Roll. Singapore Noodles with Shrimp. Granddaughter had Dumplings and Custard Bun. My daughter had Popcorn Chicken and Curry Chicken Katsu. Everything was really good! Also had the Green Tea. That was also good! Nice atmosphere in this restaurant with the decor! Also had Spring Rolls.

I have been coming to Chiwa for years and the food is fantastic. The Atmosphere is also very welcoming and inviting. The people who work here are outstanding and always seem to be in high spirits. More often than not i get Diew as a server and he has become a friend of mine over the years, always catching up on life. Chiwa is my favorite restaurant by far with great food and a family atmosphere at an affordable price.

We celebrated a very special day with my husband at Chiwa Bistro, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, cozy, and inviting, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the evening even more special. We started with rainbow rolls, which were fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. I also had Su-Mai, which was perfectly steamed, flavorful, and tasted homemade in the best way. The highlight for me, though, was the soup — hands down the best soup I’ve ever had. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor, with generous pieces of pork and shrimp that made it incredibly satisfying. My husband ordered rice noodles with pork, and it was just as amazing — perfectly cooked noodles, tender pork, and a sauce that brought everything together beautifully. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic flavor. There was a short wait when we first arrived, but the restaurant took our number, called us when the table was ready, and everything went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend making a reservation on Fridays or weekends, especially for larger groups. After tasting the food and experiencing the service, it’s easy to understand why they are so busy — they truly deserve it. Overall, Chiwa Bistro delivered an amazing dining experience with outstanding food, a lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. Delicious, comforting, and memorable — we will absolutely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!

Chiwa Bistro location along the sidewalk near The Christiana Mall (not inside the mall) has very professional staff members that work fast paced with accurate food preparation. Inside Chiwa Bistro, the store has cool unique interior decorations as shown in this reviews pictures. Keep up the good work and Thank you for giving me a cool experience.

I can't speak on service or atmosphere because I ordered take out through DD. But I was absolutely amazed by the perfect packaging and how tasty my Ramen was. Will definitely swing by to eat in-person.

My daughter suddenly had a strong craving for sushi, and we weren’t anywhere near a place known for good ones. Eventually, we drove to Christiana Mall and started searching online for a nearby sushi spot. One particular restaurant was recommended, and even though we hadn’t checked a single review, we decided to give it a try since it was already late. To our surprise, it turned out to be a beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. We quickly placed our order for Volcano Sushi, Mini Soup Dumplings, Pork Dumplings, crab tempura and Singapore Chicken Noodles. To our delight, everything arrived in just about five minutes, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The flavours were spot on portions generous, and the prices surprisingly affordable. To top it all off, we enjoyed a warm pot of Japanese Jasmine Tea, which made the meal even more relaxing. Recommended!
